LPG In India: The Fuel For The Twenty First Century Nation
Indane is a Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) manufacturing and distribution corporation that was set up by Indian Oil Corporation (otherwise referred to as IOC) and is also owned by IOC. Conceived in 1964 as a state owned business corporation that was aimed to provide non-toxic efficient cooking fuel to Indian households, it is currently recognized the world's second largest LPG manufacturing and distribution cooperation. The business corporations had a humble beginning when it provided its very first LPG connections in Kolkata in the year 1965. However with the progression of time the corporation grew in leaps and bounds providing household cooking fuel to crores of Indians in the twenty first century. LPG in India is a reasonably affordable non toxic fuel made up of two flammable colourless gases i.e. n-propane and n-butane.
