Butane Is Widely Used And Is Safer Than The Ozone-Layer Depleting Substances

When you go for chemistry classes, you get familiarized with different types of chemical substances. Each of those substances is different from one another in properties, composition, and other features. However, those substances can be found in daily life and you use them without knowing what exactly you are using. Among them, the LPG or liquefied petroleum gas is very common and well-known. Butane is a name in the chemical world, which is an organic compound. The hydrocarbon is made up of four carbon atoms with the formula C4H10. At room temperature and normal atmospheric pressure, the compound is a colorless gas and highly flammable. It is compressed to liquid form and is used as a gasoline or LPG blending.

Mainly this compound is used as a fuel. Want to know other uses of this compound? Well, you can follow the next part of this content for that.

Uses of butane:
Butane, the hydrocarbon is used as blending in gasoline with propane to form LPG. This is used as the most common domestic fuel and industrial areas also.

Apart from that, the compound can be used as a fragrance extraction solvent. In the cosmetic industry, butane and some other compressed gases are used as aerosol propellants in deodorants and personal care products by replacing the CFC or chlorofluorocarbons that are earlier used as propellants but are not environmental friendly.

It is also used as a feedstock for manufacturing ethylene and butadiene. The two compounds are the key ingredients for synthetic rubber.

It is blended with propane and some other hydrocarbons to be used as a fuel and for cigarette lighters. Different varieties of lighters are available in the market that uses the same compound. This is also used as a fuel for cooking, camping stoves, and barbecues.

Butane, especially the isobutene variety is used as a refrigerant. This is recently replacing ozone-layer depleting halo-methane that is used in refrigerators and freezers.

With such diverse uses of butane, you cannot neglect the adverse health effects of the compound. However, safety measures can be taken to avoid such health hazards and that is applicable in every aspect of using a chemical compound.

To be successful in business one thing must be taken care by the suppliers is that the compound must be available in all varieties, forms, and sizes so as to meet the basic requirements of a large mass. The products of butane in India are widely used in daily life and might increase with days.
