Carbon Dioxide Emission Reduced With Liquefied Petroleum Gas Usage
In today’s life, everyone is accustomed
to the term LPG. This is nothing but the liquefied petroleum gas that is
prepared by refining petroleum or extraction of natural gas. The gas in its
liquefied form is a highly inflammable hydrocarbon, mostly used as fuel.
Usage of fuel gas in households:
The highest usage of LPG is not
restricted to the wealthy classes of India, rather the Prime Minister’s social
welfare schemes have included the facility of providing LPG in every house
either in urban or rural areas. In this government’s efforts of popularizing
the gas in Indian household is in a subsidized rate.
Use of LPG in other areas apart from household
fuel options:
Apart from using the gas cylinders as
the major fueling options in the kitchen areas, it is also used in many other
areas. The usage includes vehicles of the modern era that uses it as the main
fuel, replacing petrol or diesel. In many automobile cars and other
four-wheelers, the options of fuel tankers for petrol are customized such that
LPG can be used instead. Some vehicles have the options of switching to petrol
and liquefied petroleum gas, both as per the situation and requirements. This
is a quite interesting and useful way to rely on dual fuel types.
The gas is used in other areas like
agricultural, recreation, industrial, constructional, hospitality sectors and
also as a fuel for central heating and water heating.
Why LPG usage is increasing?
The diesel or petrol owned vehicles
are reported to emit higher levels of smoke and carbon dioxide gases than LP
gas. Apart from that, the cost of LP gas is lesser in comparison to petrol or
diesel. These reasons account for the more usage of the liquefied form of
petroleum gas in the modern and updated vehicles along with kitchen fuel.
Availability of the fuel in different sized cylinders is also a reason to
choose it for vehicles. Thus, it is easy to store gas in a safe way. In modern
vehicles, however, the gas fueling tank is also separate and designed for
storing this gas. The owners of the vehicles save more money on the fuel purchase
after replacing the diesel or petrol by LP gas. Using this fuel marks you as a
responsible citizen by reducing the carbon footprints in automobile fuel
emission. In a nutshell, it can be said that you are using actually a clean
fuel that emits lesser harmful gases, less fuel bill extends engine life,
reduces maintenance cost, and easily available.
The increasing demand of the LPG in India might cause the shortfall
of supply if necessary measures are not taken by the government administration.
Use cost-effective fuel gas that is less harmful to the environment and that
are easily available till now, to minimize the carbon footprints.
